Top Cadillac Escalade Performance Mods

Enviable luxury accoutrements. Technology at the cutting edge. Your Escalade has it all, as only Cadillac can deliver.

Like you, it's a VIP. And like you, just because it proverbially has it all, doesn't mean it can't have almost literally everything -- the height of capability, included.

That's where we at GM Wholesale Direct come in. Shop our parts and accessories for your engine customization project; here's a few ways to get more horsepower and torque than from a naturally aspirated one, all while keeping an eye on efficiency. (Even a head-turning rev to boot.)

Install a Turbocharger or Supercharger

A naturally aspirated engine -- like, in the 2023 Escalade, a 6.2-liter V8 -- can only force so much air into its combustion chamber. That means it can only take in so much fuel, too. Add a turbo, for instance, and the engine will be able to compress excess air and take in more fuel at the same time. They combust, you get power to top the native 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet, and more efficiently. Go with a supercharger upgrade, and you'll get dramatically increased pressure, often increasing with rpm -- in other words, not just more power, but a lot more.

Upgrade To a Cold Air Intake

Another way to get more air into the engine is to get better air. That is, cooler air. To do that, relocate the engine air filter to above a wheel well or near a fender -- either way, just outside the engine compartment. These are places where a filter can get access to the freer-flowing and thus better-quality stuff. This makes the intake a cold air intake. The key is that cooler air's denser -- this means the engine can get more of it. And we already know what more forced air in the chamber means.

Switch To a Performance Air Filter

The reason to do this is related, and just as straightforward. Not only is cooler and denser air better for an engine that needs to generate more power. Air that's nearly contaminant-free is, too. Performance air filters strike a balance between airflow and filtration -- a kind better conducive to getting that air-volume bump.

Customize the Exhaust

It's just as important to relieve backpressure in the exhaust as it is to get the best air quality possible. Installing a performance exhaust can help do that -- by opening up the exhaust pipe a little better -- but it'll also come with the added benefit of making for a pretty aggressive note when you rev the engine. Plus, custom exhausts are cool dress-ups; you ever show off your Escalade in the garage, on the street, or at a show, people are going to notice.
